The nightscope range of products are designed to help you automatically test visual indicators like LEDs. Specifically the nightscope-LED has the following features:
- Detect light intensity and RGB colour.
- Based around the TAOS TCS230 sensor.
- Wavelength range 300nm to 1000nm.
- No external filters necessary.
- Fibre optic connection to the unit under test.
- USB connectivity.
- Hardware settling time 10ms.
- Rugged external case and mounting plate.
- LabVIEW drivers and DLL provided.

How Much?
$560 + GST ($630 NZD including GST) per nightscope-LED unit.
$15 + GST ($16.88 NZD including GST) per meter for
2mm plastic Fibre Optic cable.
What do I get in each package?
Each nightscope-LED is shipped with the following items (see picture top right):
- nightscope-LED PCB in a rugged external case
- one USB A-B cable
- 0.5m of 2mm plastic Fibre Optic cable
- connectors and ribbon cable to enable multiple units to work from one USB port
- Installation CD containing manual, LabVIEW drivers and DLL.
Common applications
The main application for nightscope-LED is during production test of electronic products. In this application nightscope-LED can be used to verify the following:
- Colour of LEDs on a products front panel - to ensure the correct part is present in the correct location.
- Operation of LEDs on a products front panel - used as part of automated production test systems to attain consistent quality of test for LEDs.
- Intensity check of an LED or LCD backlight.

Nightside’s nightscope-LED is flexible and can be reconfigured to suit specific testing needs, please contact Nightside if you would like to discuss customisation options. The nightscope-LED provides four optical inputs and can be connected together to enable up to 24 optical channels to be measured via USB connection.
The product is supplied as a complete unit inside a rugged external
case with LabVIEW Drivers.
